Each with three sets of turned spindle splats flanked by tapered uprights above a caned seat on turned faux bamboo front legs, joined to the back sabre legs with a X-stretcher. All in the original paint with lattice and guilloche decoration.
One inscribed in pencil 'The Castle Powderham'

Provenance: Powderham Castle, Devon. Probably supplied to William 'Kitty' Courtenay, 3rd Viscount Courtenay, later 9th Earl of Devon (1768-1835), and thence by descent
