The square oak frame with seat, back and sides in woven rush and rattan. The uprights faced with inset square ceramic tiles.

Provenance: formerly in the collection of Paul Reeves.
Hans Vollmer was a prominent Austrian art historian and designer. He was a member of the Austrian Secessionist arts movement, which included Gustav Klimt and held the principles of 'total art', unifying painting, architecture, design and the decorative arts in a fresh and modern way.
