The circular top with an ogee edge on a hexagonal frieze with stained motifs on six slender cabriole legs.

Scotland, circa 1900

Ellwood was a prominent artist, designer & interior decorator, who studied in Paris, Berlin, Vienna & Camden, London. A founding member of the Guild of Arts Craftsmen, his designs for J.S.Henry were exhibited at the 1900 Paris Exhibition, winning a Silver Medal. He exhibited widely, including at the RA.
