Of rectangular form with two banks of four drawers flanking a central kneehole below a central drawer.

Birkett set up his furniture making studio in Lapworth in the late 1940s, moving to the Cotswolds in the '70s. Each piece was an individual commission, a work of art, influenced by the Arts & Crafts Movement.
