For a closely related cabinet on stand see Sotheby's, Tom Devenish: A Collection of Important English Furniture, 27th April 2008, Lot 1 ($73,000 excl. BP) See final image.
The particular veneers, line inlays, and banding on this cabinet are closely comparable to those seen on two chests of drawers labelled with the printed mark of London cabinetmaker Hugh Granger. Granger operated from the Carved Angel in Aldermanbury, offering "All Sorts of Fashionable Household Goods at Reasonable Rates," and served as a churchwarden there in 1692. His business seems to have closed around 1706, when he announced the sale of his remaining "Cabinet Work & Glasses."
