Two exhibitions of Dabeau's work were held by renowned gallerist Galerie Katia Granoff, Honfleur in 1997 and 2000. In these exhibitions, there was a clear theme in Dabeau's work - inspired by the likes of Vouillard and Klimt, his arresting and seductive portraits of Chinese-inspired women were described as being depicitions of icon-like, timeless figures who invite introspection rather than a narrative interpretation.

Born in Barbezieux in 1947, Dabeau moved to Paris to study art, devoting himself entirely to painting in 1994, and now lives and works in Royan. He exhibits in the provinces and in Paris as well as in Spain.

Galerie Katia Granoff was founded in the 1920s by Russian-born dealer and poet Katia Granoff. She was one of the first prominent female dealers in France and championed artists including Marc Chagall, Claude Monet, Othon Friesz, Chana Orloff, among others.
